We quote from a walk of the site rather than a price list, because the same camera is the right answer at one gate and useless at the next.

What the work focuses on

Screening – Walk-through archways and hand-held scanners for entrances that must move people quickly without missing anything.

CCTV – Cameras chosen for the light and the distance, recording to a system that still has the footage when you need it.

Access control – Who goes where, on record — card, PIN or fingerprint, on doors, gates and turnstiles.

What gets quoted comes out of a site walk, not a product list. These are the three families most sites end up combining. What matters is which one goes where, and that is a decision about your entrances rather than about the products.

Walk-through detectors

Multi-zone archways that indicate where on the body the metal is, so screening stays fast at a busy entrance instead of becoming a queue. Sensitivity is tuned on site so ordinary belt buckles and phones are not stopping the line every thirty seconds.

CCTV & recording

Cameras matched to each scene — distance, light, and whether you need a face or just an event — recorded to a system sized for the retention you’re required to keep. Retention is set to what you actually have to hold, so the footage still exists on the day somebody asks for it.

Access control & alarms

Controlled doors and gates with an audit trail somebody can actually read, and intrusion detection that reaches a person who can act on it. Credentials can be withdrawn the moment somebody leaves, which is the part a key has never given you.

DETERRENCE — CHANGE BEHAVIOUR AT THE DOOR

Visible cameras and a manned archway stop most of what a retail or office site is worried about. Cheaper per position, and often all that is needed. It is also the cheaper half, and at most retail and office sites it is the half doing the real work.

EVIDENCE — IDENTIFY A FACE, PROVE A SEQUENCE

Footage that identifies someone at distance in poor light, and an access log that stands up in a hearing. Costs more per position and needs the retention to match. Worth paying for at the two or three positions where an incident would genuinely have to be proved.

Nearly every site needs both, in different places. The site walk is what decides which is where — and it is free.

Can you maintain what we already have?

Often, yes. We’ll survey the existing cameras, recorder and doors, tell you what is still fit for purpose and what is past it, and quote the difference — rather than quoting a full replacement because it is easier to sell.
